New Information Emerges About Tragic Accident on Jelgava–Iecava Road: Young Woman Killed
A head-on collision between a BMW and a Renault on the Jelgava–Iecava road on Friday afternoon killed a young woman born in 2008 and injured five other people.
According to the State Police, a head-on collision between a BMW and a Renault occurred shortly before 5 PM on Friday in Iecava Parish, Bauska Municipality, on the Jelgava–Iecava road. The passenger of the BMW, a young woman born in 2008, died at the scene. Five other individuals sustained injuries.
Firefighters from the State Fire and Rescue Service used hydraulic tools to free two people from the vehicles, while three managed to get out on their own. All five were handed over to the Emergency Medical Service (NMPD). The NMPD reported that three victims suffered severe injuries, two sustained minor injuries, and one person died.
The State Police have initiated a criminal investigation to clarify all circumstances of the accident.
