Trump renews threat to bomb Oman over Iran war conduct
US President Donald Trump has again warned he will bomb Oman if the country interferes with efforts to end the US-Israel war on Iran, now nearly six months old.

President Donald Trump used a Monday interview with Fox News to repeat an earlier warning to Oman, saying the country would be bombed if it "gets in the way" of his push to end the US-Israel war against Iran. The remark comes as the conflict drags into its sixth month, despite Trump's repeated claims that a resolution and lasting peace deal were close.
The Strait of Hormuz, through which roughly a fifth of the world's seaborne oil supplies normally pass, has been largely shut since the US and Israel launched their campaign against Iran in February. Iran sits to the strait's north and Oman to its south, and the two nations have reportedly been negotiating over control of the waterway.
A pattern of threats
This is not the first time Trump has threatened Oman. In May, during an offhand comment at a cabinet meeting, he said he would "blow up" the country if it did not "behave." Monday's comments also follow a speech on Friday in which Trump floated declaring the Strait of Hormuz US territory.
No lasting peace agreement between the US, Israel and Iran has yet been reached, and tensions in the region remain elevated. Further details on the situation were not immediately available.
