US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News, has intensified pressure on Iran to strike a deal with Washington, warning that otherwise 'nobody will be left' in Iran and there will be 'nothing left.' Trump stated that the US is very careful about civilians but insisted Tehran must comply.

The president claimed that this message was conveyed during the latest communication between representatives of both sides, which he said occurred about an hour before the interview. When asked if he believes Iran will agree to a deal, Trump replied: 'They should. I don't know if they will or not.'

Trump also warned that the US could hit Iranian bridges and power plants next week if Tehran does not return to negotiations. This comes after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on July 12 the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, to which Trump responded that the strait remains open and that the US is ready to strike. On July 13, Trump announced the US would reinstate a blockade of Iranian seaports and demand 20% of the value of cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz.

Days earlier, Trump claimed that Iran had asked the US to extend negotiations.
