US President Donald Trump spoke by phone with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on Sunday, June 14, following his earlier call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The information was confirmed by Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov to TASS.
According to Ushakov, the call lasted exactly 55 minutes. Trump reiterated his call for a cessation of hostilities in Ukraine and, as reported by the Russian side, expressed readiness to influence Kyiv and US European allies.
During the conversation, Putin told Trump that Kyiv's attempts to strike peaceful infrastructure in Russia would not change the situation on the battlefield. The Russian leader also confirmed that if Zelenskyy wants a meeting, he can come to Moscow.
The two sides agreed that US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will visit Russia again in the near future. Putin also praised Melania Trump's role in reuniting Russian and Ukrainian children with their families.
Trump informed Putin that a deal between the US and Iran is close and may be announced on June 14. Additionally, Trump noted that Putin was the first foreign leader to call him on Sunday, as the US president celebrates his 80th birthday.
Earlier on Sunday, Trump and Zelenskyy held a phone call and agreed to meet at the G7 summit.
