Trump: Putin Feels Pressure and Wants to End the War
US President Donald Trump stated that he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin feels pressure and wants to end Russia's war against Ukraine.

On July 6, US President Donald Trump told journalists that he thinks Russian President Vladimir Putin feels pressure and wants to end the war in Ukraine. When asked if after his latest phone call with Putin he believes the Kremlin leader is under pressure, Trump replied: "I think he really feels pressure. He wants to end it, and Ukraine wants to end it. We are in talks, and we will see if we can stop it."
Trump also claimed that the war could be closer to its conclusion than many expect. "I think we are much closer than people understand. President Putin wants it to end - I can tell you that very strongly. It was a good conversation. President Zelenskyy also wants it to end now. We are going to NATO and will talk about it. I think we will end it," Trump said.
The US president repeated his assertion that during his political career he has "ended eight wars." His statements come amid ongoing Russian massive strikes on Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, where recent attacks have killed and wounded dozens of people. It remains unclear whether Trump's optimistic remarks are backed by any specific agreement or peace plan. Discussions on ending the war are expected to continue at the NATO level.
