Trekše helps beat fierce rival in Swiss floorball league, Anis's goal not enough for Uster

Round three of the Swiss Premier League in floorball brought contrasting fortunes for the two Latvians ranked among the league's top ten scorers.

Trekše named his team's MVP

Latvian forward Pēteris Trekše led SV Wiler-Ersigen to a 7:5 win over the strong Zug United side, despite trailing 0:2 early in the match. After his team called a timeout, Trekše scored to spark the comeback, later contributing to two more goals through an assist and an individual effort. With two goals and one assist, he was named his club's most valuable player of the match. For the visitors, league scoring leader Albins Sjogrēn was the top performer with one goal and three assists.

Anis scores, but Uster loses

Daniels Jānis Anis, a product of the Ulbroka floorball school, put his team UHC Uster ahead in the sixth minute of their away match against Tigers Langnau. However, the home side responded with four unanswered goals. Although Anis and his teammates later narrowed the gap, Uster ultimately lost 3:5. With two points, the team now sits second from bottom in a tightly packed table.

Other results

Reigning champions HC Rychenberg Winterthur, whose roster includes Gustavs Griezītis as he recovers from injury, beat the league's only pointless team, Floorball Chur United, 8:6 at home. Grasshopper Club Zurich thrashed WaSa 9:3, while UHC Alligator Malans earned a bonus point against Floorball Koniz Bern 7:6 in a penalty shootout. Meanwhile, Kloten-Dietlikon Jets, coached by Heiki Lūkonen, lost away to Floorball Thurgau 7:9.
