Meteorologists forecast Wednesday as the warmest day of the week across Latvia, with temperatures reaching up to +27 degrees in the south and southeast, while coastal areas stay cooler. Rain and thunderstorms are possible in several regions.

Forecasters say Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week throughout Latvia. Daytime air temperatures will range widely — from +19 degrees in some coastal areas up to +27 degrees in the country's southern and southeastern regions.

Regional conditions

In Latgale and Selija, the weather will be dry with mostly sunny skies. Elsewhere in Latvia, skies will be partly cloudy, with brief rain and possible thunderstorms in some areas.

Winds will blow from the south and southwest, light to moderate, though gusts in some spots could reach up to 14 meters per second. Overnight and morning temperatures will be noticeably lower than daytime highs, ranging from +11 to +17 degrees.

Conditions in Riga

In the capital, skies will be partly cloudy, with a chance of brief rain and thunderstorms. Winds will blow lightly to moderately from the south. Nighttime temperatures in Riga will drop to +15 degrees, while daytime highs will climb to +26 degrees.
