According to forecasts from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, a precipitation zone will move across Latvia on Wednesday, accompanied by rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds.
During the night, the precipitation zone will continue eastward, affecting the entire country. The heaviest rain is expected in western Latvia, with possible thunder in the morning hours. Winds will be light in most areas, but in western Kurzeme, north winds may gust up to 20 meters per second in the morning. Overnight temperatures will range from +9°C to +14°C.
In Riga, the night will be rainy with mostly light winds, and temperatures will drop to +13°C to +14°C.
On Wednesday daytime, thunderstorms are forecast for eastern Latvia. Winds will be light to moderate from the south-southwest, gradually shifting to the north-northwest and strengthening. Coastal areas will experience gusts up to 20 meters per second. Daytime high temperatures will range from +15°C to +21°C.
