Three Friends' Dream of Alternative Pop Music Festival LaDiDaDi Finally Comes True
After more than 15 years of nurturing an idea, a new alternative pop music festival LaDiDaDi will take place in Riga, organized by three well-known figures in the local music scene.

Riga's cultural landscape is about to welcome a new event – the alternative pop garden festival LaDiDaDi. The organizers are three friends with extensive experience in the music industry: DJ Toms Grēviņš, Bruno Roze – founder of the independent record label I Love You Records, and Uldis Pabērzis, the organizer of the Summer Sound festival.
The idea for the festival was born in the summer of 2010 after the trio attended the Primavera festival in Barcelona. “It was one morning after a proper three-day party when the name LaDiDaDi was first mentioned,” Grēviņš recalls with a smile. At that time, city festivals were gaining popularity in Europe – events held in urban settings that allowed attendees to temporarily step out of the city while staying within it. The trio felt this format would suit Riga perfectly, yet the concept lingered in discussions for years.
The Zaļais Teātris (Green Theatre) in Mežaparks had already been booked twice for LaDiDaDi, but both times the event did not happen. Now, on the third attempt, the friends’ more-than-15-year-old idea will finally become reality. “We probably weren’t ready yet,” they say.
LaDiDaDi promises to be a unique addition to Riga’s cultural calendar, blending alternative pop music with a distinctive garden party atmosphere.
