Trump and Macron to meet in New York ahead of UN General Assembly

US President Donald Trump will meet French President Emmanuel Macron in New York on Monday during the UN General Assembly. The meeting is scheduled for 9:35pm GMT.

US President Donald Trump is set to meet French President Emmanuel Macron in New York on Monday, the White House has announced. Both leaders are attending the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Trump's schedule, published Sunday evening, the meeting is set for 5:35pm local time, or 2135 GMT.

Macron will arrive in New York from Saint Pierre and Miquelon, a small French territory off Canada's Atlantic coast, where he met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. The two leaders used the visit to mark a new chapter in relations between France and Canada.

Aside from his meeting with Trump, Macron also plans to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
