Tsahkna: Russia only understands the language of force
Estonian Foreign Minister expressed solidarity with Lithuania after its embassy in Kyiv was damaged in a Russian night attack, saying Russia shows no interest in peace and calling for stronger sanctions and more military support for Ukraine.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna has voiced solidarity with Lithuania after the building of its embassy in Kyiv was damaged during a Russian attack. In a post on X, he said Russia continues its campaign of destruction against Ukraine.
Tsahkna expressed support for Lithuania following the damage to the embassy, which occurred during overnight strikes. The attack took place only a few meters from the diplomatic mission. In the minister's view, this once again proves that Russia is not interested in peace. He added that the only language Russia understands is the language of force.
The minister called for stronger action against Moscow, including tougher sanctions, bringing Russia to account, and increasing military assistance to Ukraine.
According to Rus.ERR, Russian forces launched a massive strike on Kyiv on August 1. Two rockets hit the ground just meters from the Lithuanian embassy. The blasts shattered the embassy's windows and damaged its roof. No embassy staff members were injured.
