England head coach Thomas Tuchel has strongly criticized FIFA's disciplinary process after the governing body opted not to suspend United States striker Folarin Balogun. Balogun was sent off in the World Cup round of 16 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina following a VAR review, and it was initially expected that he would automatically miss the next game against Belgium. However, FIFA made a surprising decision to lift the suspension, allowing Balogun to play.

Tuchel commented on the situation after England's dramatic 3-2 victory over Mexico, which also saw defender Jarrell Quansah sent off after a VAR review. The German manager questioned the clarity of the rules. 'Where does it start and where does it end? Can we now overturn suspensions or can we not? What is going on?' Tuchel said.

He emphasized that the main issue is the lack of boundaries. 'Where do we draw the line? Will we now appeal every yellow card we feel shouldn't have been given? Or every red card? That is my question. I don't have an answer,' Tuchel stated.

Both Balogun's and Quansah's red cards were issued only after video replays, further fueling debate over the consistency of FIFA's disciplinary system during this World Cup.
