Tukiša takes sixth place at European U23 Shooting Championships in Wrocław
Latvian shooter Anete Tukiša finished sixth on Monday at the European U23 Championships in Wrocław in the 10-metre air rifle event.
The Latvian Shooting Federation has reported that Anete Tukiša finished sixth on Monday at the European U23 Championships in Wrocław in the 10-metre air rifle event.
In qualification, Tukiša scored 631.6 points, which gave her second place and a comfortable spot in the final. There she tallied 166.0 points and ended the competition in sixth position, confirming her competitiveness among Europe’s strongest young shooters.
In the same discipline, Ieva Pēpule scored 617.7 in qualification and placed 30th among 35 competitors. In the men’s air rifle competition, Linards Dvarišķis took 27th place with 618.0 points, while Miķelis Ercmanis finished 32nd with 609.7 points.
In the air pistol mixed pairs event, Latvia fielded two teams among 23. Kristiāna Agule and Daniels Vilciņš finished 18th with 552 points, while Alise Dvarišķe and Elvis Pavlovskis placed 20th with 549 points. At least 567 points were needed to reach the top four and continue competing for medals.
The European U23 Championships in Wrocław run until 12 August, with Latvian athletes still scheduled to appear in several individual and team events.
