Latvian care home's video about residents' former professions moves thousands online

The Tukums social care center “Rauda” has published a video on Facebook that quickly gained widespread attention. The video shows elderly residents each holding a sheet of paper on which they wrote down a profession they once trained for or worked in.

The footage features former teachers, drivers, electricians, agronomists, librarians, musicians and mechanics. The center's post noted that while these people now require constant care, each of them carries their own life experience and contribution to society.

A call to remember people's life stories

The center's representatives used the post to encourage the public to see seniors not only as people who now need help, but also to remember their past working lives and achievements.

The video sparked a strong emotional response in the comments. Many users said they were moved to tears, praising both the simplicity and the honesty of the video.
