Turkey to Propose New Negotiations Between Russia and Ukraine
Turkey plans to submit a fresh proposal for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in the near future, aiming to prevent the escalation of hostilities in the Black Sea.
Turkey has announced that it will soon present a new ceasefire initiative to facilitate negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, currently on a visit to Kyiv, stated that Ankara's goal is to avoid the expansion of combat operations in the Black Sea region.
Fidan expressed hope that the current destructive phase of the conflict will push both sides toward a ceasefire. According to him, "everything that could be done during the war has already been done," and after exhausting all possible means, the parties are now psychologically preparing for a truce. He likened the situation to the saying "the darkest hour is just before the dawn," indicating that the ongoing devastating moment might signal approaching peace.
