Turkey perfect in World Cup qualifiers, Jokic records triple-double

Turkey's men's basketball team completed the first round of the 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifiers with a perfect 6-0 record on Monday. In Group C, Turkey defeated Switzerland 95-72 at home. Ömer Yurtseven led the winners with 18 points, Alperen Şengün added 17, while Cedi Osman and Adem Bona each scored 15. Alexander Schumacher led Switzerland with 23 points and five assists.
In Group E, Germany crushed Cyprus 111-79. Dennis Schröder recorded 20 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists, while Christian Sengfelder had 19 points and ten rebounds. Croatia beat Israel 103-75 at home, with Ivica Zubac posting 18 points and ten rebounds, and Dario Šarić adding 17 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists. Croatia and Germany each have five wins from six games, Israel has two, while Cyprus lost all games.
France defeated Finland 98-69, and Hungary beat Belgium 85-70. France has five wins, Finland four, Hungary three, while Belgium remains winless.
In Group H, Sweden beat Slovenia 88-79 in Ljubljana. Pelle Larsson scored 31 points, and Stefan Joksimović had 22 for Slovenia. Earlier, Estonia lost 73-75 to the Czech Republic. All teams have three wins, with the Czech Republic topping the group on head-to-head record.
In Group F, Latvia routed Austria 112-66, and Poland beat the Netherlands 92-84. Poland leads with a 6-0 record, Latvia has three wins, Netherlands two, and Austria one.
