Turkey extends Brazil's final losing streak in Nations League

Brazil's women's volleyball team lost their fifth consecutive Nations League final on Saturday, falling 1-3 (23:25, 25:23, 26:24, 25:21) to Turkey in Macau. Brazil had won the previous three meetings between the teams and started the match with a 4:1 lead, but that advantage was squandered. In the first set, Brazil rebuilt a 23:18 lead, only for Turkey to close to 22:23 before Brazil took the set.

In the second set, Brazil led 6:3 early, then Turkey took control, going up 15:11 and 20:17. Turkey squandered that lead but won three straight points at the end to take the set. In the third set, Turkey came back from 11:13 to lead and won 26:24. In the fourth set, Turkey jumped to 9:3, Brazil fought back and even took a 19:18 lead, but Turkey won seven of the last nine points. This was Brazil's fifth consecutive final loss in the Nations League, while Turkey claimed its second title in the tournament's history.
