Turtle Beach has released the Rematch wireless controller for Nintendo Switch 2, featuring RGB lighting and officially licensed Nintendo character designs. Engadget's review scored the device 8 out of 10.
Tech outlet Engadget has published a review of the Turtle Beach Rematch, a new wireless gamepad built specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2 console. The controller comes in several designs featuring officially licensed Nintendo characters, including Mario, Princess Peach, Rosalina and Animal Crossing's KK Slider, alongside a plain black model without lighting.
Most models include RGB lighting with four available settings. The reviewer noted the controller is light and comfortable for smaller hands, with offset analog sticks similar to the official Switch 2 Pro Controller. The sticks use TMR technology, which offers high precision and prevents stick drift over time — a feature not even found on Nintendo's own official controller.
Technical features
The controller includes built-in motion controls, a rechargeable battery lasting up to 40 hours (12 hours with RGB effects enabled), a playable range of up to 30 feet, and customizable rear buttons. Among the drawbacks mentioned are the lack of haptic feedback, an inability to wake the console, and a hollow feel when held.
The controller is typically priced at $65 but is often discounted to $50 or less. A pricier Fortnite-themed edition is also available for $70, which includes an in-game emote.
Engadget's review awarded the controller 8 out of 10 points, praising its charm and comfort while noting the missing haptic features.
