Tusk: Conflict between Poland and Ukraine Pleases Putin, Shocks Allies
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk criticized President Nawrocki's decision to strip Zelenskyy of the Order of the White Eagle, saying it benefits Russia and confuses allies.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has commented on President Karol Nawrocki's decision to strip Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the Order of the White Eagle, stating that this delights Russian President Vladimir Putin and shocks allied nations.
In a post on social media platform X, Tusk emphasized that the conflict between Poland and Ukraine benefits Putin and confuses their allies. He stressed that the task of both Presidents Zelenskyy and Nawrocki is to calm passions, not escalate tensions, adding that the front line lies elsewhere.
Under Poland's constitution, if the prime minister does not sign (provide countersignature) the president's decision to revoke the Order of the White Eagle, it does not take legal effect. Therefore, Tusk's position is crucial for the decision's validity.
Earlier, President Nawrocki announced the decision to revoke the award, delivering a nearly 13-minute speech in which he stated that the Order of the White Eagle is not an ordinary decoration but a symbol of the highest trust, signifying a special bond with the Polish state and the gratitude of the nation.
