Tusk warns Poland could face Russian attacks on Ukraine border crossings

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Thursday that the country is preparing for the possibility that Russia could target Poland's border crossings with Ukraine, following what he described as similar provocative attacks elsewhere.

According to Tusk, Russia has already carried out provocative strikes against border crossing points, citing Moldova as an example. He said comparable actions could be expected against border crossings between Ukraine and other countries, including Poland.

Intelligence briefing

Tusk revealed he had received a fairly detailed report from the CIA on possible developments in the coming months. He noted that this information aligns with warnings he has been raising publicly for several months already.

Call for readiness

The Polish prime minister urged both Poland and the wider European Union to prepare for a range of possible scenarios. He stressed that risks are not confined to the front line between Russia and Ukraine but could also extend along the EU's eastern flank.
