Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has called a special meeting at the Government Security Centre for 17:00 on Sunday to discuss overnight Russian strikes near the country's border. Television channel TVN24 was first to report the planned meeting, which government spokesman Adam Szłapka later confirmed.

Ministers and officials responsible for the security services are expected to attend. The meeting follows Russian strikes on Ukrainian regions overnight into 13 September, during which, according to Jacek Goryszewski, spokesman for Poland's Armed Forces Operational Command, the threat to Poland itself was real.

Dariusz Sinecki, spokesman for the Nadbużański unit of Poland's Border Guard, said a drone struck a truck near the "Jagodin-Dorohusk" border crossing that night. Ukraine's State Border Guard Service spokesman Andriy Demchenko said, however, that there had been no direct hit on the "Jagodin" crossing point itself on the border with Poland.

Poland's Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that no violation of Polish airspace had occurred. Meanwhile, Ukraine's railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia reported that Russia struck the locomotive of a passenger train near the border with Poland.
