Cloudy and rainy weather to persist in Latvia in coming days
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre forecasts mostly cloudy skies with rain, heavy showers and thunderstorms in northern areas, and gusty winds on the Kurzeme coast over the next few days.

On Tuesday, July 21, rain will continue in northern Latvia overnight, with prolonged and heavy downpours and possible thunderstorms. During the day, rain will spread to a wider area, and in the afternoon some regions can still expect heavy showers and thunderclouds. A similar situation will continue into Wednesday night, with precipitation persisting in central and eastern parts.
Wednesday, July 22, will be rainy in many places, especially in central and eastern Latvia. Fog may form in some areas in the morning, reducing visibility. The wind will gradually shift to the northwest and west, becoming gusty, on the coast of Kurzeme reaching 15–19 m/s in gusts, and up to 20 m/s at the start of Tuesday night.
Minimum nighttime temperatures will be +10…+15°C, while daytime highs will mostly reach +15…+20°C. On Thursday and Friday, the sky will be mostly cloudy with only occasional sunny spells. Isolated showers are still possible, but the wind will become lighter. On Friday, temperatures will climb to around +20°C in most parts.
During the weekend and early next week, weather conditions will be influenced by cyclones, bringing cloudy skies, brief clearings and light rain in places. Winds will be light. Starting Sunday, warmer air from the south will flow into Latvia, so on Monday the maximum temperature will generally range between +20°C and +25°C.
