TV tonight: 'The Sentinels' finale and more highlights

BBC Four airs the final two episodes of French thriller The Sentinels, a counterfactual drama set during the First World War about lab-grown super-soldiers. The concluding instalments tie together political intrigue and action sequences. The mission to free Mazauric is in danger, and everything hinges on it.

Channel 5's Sussex: Jewel of the South Coast profiles a lifeguard, a Chichester cleric working to preserve her cathedral, and farmers producing artisanal cheese. On BBC Two, a recording from the Proms features the Spanish National Orchestra's debut with Ravel's Bolero; conducted by David Afkham, who wore a Spain football scarf, the concert also included Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez and Falla's The Three-Cornered Hat. Channel 4's Hitler's Games: Berlin 1936 in Colour examines the 1936 Olympics. Historians and relatives of athletes such as Jesse Owens, Audrey Brown and Jack Beresford share how competitors felt about taking part in what served as Nazi propaganda. One moment described in the film shows 100,000 spectators rising to give the Hitler salute.

ITV1 continues The Staircase, with Colin Firth as Michael, who is trying to prove he did not kill his wife Kathleen, played by Toni Collette. The district attorney's office builds its case, and details from Michael's past emerge. BBC Three offers a double bill of Ghosts Australia, in which Kate's mother Mel makes an unannounced visit; she even threatens to move in, while Kate's ghostly housemates include Lindy, an 80s aerobics instructor, and Satan, a 90s biker.

Film choices include Heretic on Sky Cinema Premiere. Hugh Grant stars as an outwardly friendly Englishman who confronts two Mormon missionaries, played by Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East. The script comes from Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Also showing is Love Me, a sci-fi tale about a smart buoy (Kristen Stewart) and a satellite (Steven Yeun) searching the internet for meaning; directed by Sam and Andy Zuchero.

Live sport includes day nine of the Commonwealth Games, the Women's Open golf, Glorious Goodwood horse racing, the start of the Tour de France Femmes in Lausanne, and a Scottish Premiership match between Aberdeen and Hearts.
