Twelve South launches compact Valet charger for nightstands
Twelve South has introduced a smaller, 25W version of its Valet wireless charging station, aimed at cramped nightstands.
Twelve South has released a new, more compact version of its Valet charging station. The new model, which costs $130, is designed for smaller surfaces such as bedside tables. It reduces the device's depth from 7.5 inches to 4.25 inches compared to the original.
The Valet offers a wireless charging pad with Qi2 support and magnetic alignment. The charging tray and frame are wrapped in Nappa leather, and the frames are swappable. A subtle LED light on the underside confirms proper device alignment.
Charging capabilities have been improved: the new model supports up to 25W wireless fast charging, up from 15W on the original. There is also a USB-C port on the underside for wired charging of additional devices. Total output is capped at 35W, and the USB-C port can deliver up to 25W when the wireless charger is not in use.
The Valet does not have a built-in Apple Watch charger. To charge a smartwatch or smart ring, users need to plug a cable into the USB-C port. The underside includes cable routing tabs and raised feet, making it easy to tidy the power cable and orient the device as needed.
The original, larger Valet was launched earlier and sells for $180. The new compact version retains the same design language and construction, offering a smaller footprint for cluttered spaces. It is available now.
