Latvia's U-21 men's national football team suffered a defeat on Thursday in a qualifying match for the 2027 European Championship, losing 2:4 to their Greek counterparts away from home.

The first half belonged largely to the Greek side, which scored three goals while Latvia managed to respond with just one. The teams went into the break with the hosts leading 3:1.

In the second half, the Latvian team continued to fight and added another goal to their tally, but it wasn't enough to change the course of the match. Greece's U-21 side ultimately secured the win with a final score of 4:2.

The away defeat means Latvia's U-21 national team will need to improve its standing in upcoming qualifying matches in order to keep alive its chances of reaching the 2027 European Championship.
