Water leak forces closure of 'Maxima X' store in Riga, Satiksmes Street

A 'Maxima X' supermarket in Riga, Torņakalns, at Satiksmes Street 3, was temporarily closed on Friday due to a water leak originating from the upper floors of the building. Liene Dupate-Ugule, communications manager at 'Maxima Latvija', confirmed to the agency that no one was injured, but part of the decorative ceiling elements were damaged.
The store was closed immediately to ensure the safety of customers and employees. The water leak has now been stopped, and cleaning operations will commence shortly. According to Dupate-Ugule, the store will only reopen after specialists have confirmed that the premises are safe for both customers and staff. The exact reopening time remains unknown.
