Water Temperature in Gulf of Riga Reaches 20°C in Some Places
In spots, the Gulf of Riga has warmed to 20°C, while western beaches have cooled. A slight rise is expected in coming days, followed by a drop next week.

According to data from municipalities and the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC), water temperatures vary. At Ventspils beach, the sea has cooled to 11°C, and at Liepāja beach to 16°C. In Jūrmala, temperatures range between 16 and 18°C, in Riga it is 18°C, and in Saulkrasti it reaches 19°C.
In Kolka, the water is 18°C, while in Roja, Mērsrags, and near the Daugavgrīva mole it has reached approximately 20°C. Rivers are 17 to 23°C, lakes and reservoirs 19 to 23°C. River levels are mostly falling.
Forecasters say that in the coming days water temperatures will rise slightly, but next week, with cooler weather, they will drop again.
