UEFA threatens legal action against FIFA President Infantino and investor Kushner

UEFA, the governing body of European football, has threatened legal action against FIFA President Gianni Infantino, venture capitalist Joshua Kushner, and other individuals involved in a controversial plan to privatize a share of the World Cup's commercial operations.

A letter sent to Infantino and seen by The Telegraph states that UEFA is "actively considering legal action, arbitration, and/or regulatory complaints" against the FIFA chief.

The move follows Infantino's proposal to transfer FIFA's commercial rights and tournament operations to a private entity, in partnership with Thrive Capital, Kushner's venture capital firm. Under the plan, private investors would be allowed to acquire a 20 percent stake in the commercial operation.

Joshua Kushner is the brother of Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump. The UEFA letter signals growing tensions within football governance over the proposed privatization, which has raised concerns about transparency in FIFA's commercial dealings.
