Ukraine detains senior National Police official in "Carthage" case
Ukrainian anti-corruption bodies have detained Volodymyr Tsenov, first deputy head of the National Police's Strategic Investigations Department. Sources say he is "Price" in the materials of the "Carthage" case.

Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities detained Volodymyr Tsenov, first deputy head of the National Police's Strategic Investigations Department, on 4 November. The detention came as new materials were being published in the "Carthage" case, which is being investigated by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU). The information was provided to Ukrainska Pravda by its sources in law enforcement.
Who is "Price"
The sources say the figure called "Price" in the recordings is Tsenov. NABU had earlier stated that the materials feature a senior official of the National Police's Strategic Investigations Department under the code name "Price". According to investigators, this person was responsible for shielding call centres on the police side.
Background
Earlier the same morning it emerged that NABU was conducting searches at the home or office of Anton Kravchuk, head of the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). NABU previously said that during lawful investigative actions carried out under a ruling by an investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court, a senior SBU official threatened to use a firearm and refused to let detectives reach the search site. Sources told the paper this was General Serhiy Duka.
NABU staff detained General Duka, first deputy head of the SBU's department for the protection of national statehood.
Members of the criminal organisation exposed in the "Carthage" operation had planned physical violence against investigative journalist Denys Bihus. The reason was an investigation by Bihus.Info into the U420 shop chain, which sold narcotic substances.
