Ukraine sinks six Russian 'shadow fleet' vessels in two-day strike wave
Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces struck 102 targets in Russia on 6-7 August, including six 'shadow fleet' ships in the Black and Azov Seas. Ten energy facilities and other military infrastructure were also hit.
Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) carried out a large wave of strikes against Russian targets over two days, 6 and 7 August, according to SBS commander Robert Brovdi, known by the callsign 'Magyar'. In total, 102 targets were destroyed.
Among the targets hit were ten energy sector facilities and six vessels belonging to Russia's so-called 'shadow fleet', operating in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. The destroyed ships included two tankers and four dry cargo vessels.
Infrastructure also hit
According to Brovdi, the strikes also hit two warehouses storing fuel, lubricants and ammunition. Two radar complexes were damaged, along with a 'Buk' surface-to-air missile system, locomotives and fuel tanks.
Part of a broader Crimea operation
Brovdi said the strikes are part of a wider operation targeting Russian-occupied territories in Crimea. Between 1 July and 7 August, the SBS destroyed a total of 211 energy facilities in these territories.
