Emergency power cuts introduced in Dnipro, Kyiv and five oblasts of Ukraine
Emergency power cuts have been introduced in several Ukrainian regions, including Dnipro and Kyiv, on the orders of grid operator Ukrenergo. Earlier on 8 November, over 600,000 consumers in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast lost electricity after Russian attacks on the energy system.

Emergency electricity cuts took effect on 8 November in several regions of Ukraine, including the city of Dnipro and the capital Kyiv. The measures were ordered by Ukrenergo, the state-owned operator of Ukraine's electricity transmission network. In total, the cuts affect Dnipro, Kyiv and five oblasts (regions).
The information came from DTEK, the largest private energy company in Ukraine. Ukrenergo said the emergency cuts are also being applied in Kharkiv, Sumy and Poltava oblasts.
Schedules do not apply
While emergency cuts are in force, the usual scheduled outage timetables do not apply. This means power may be switched off outside previously published times. DTEK said it would inform customers of any changes on its Telegram channel.
What happened earlier
The measures follow an earlier event the same day. On the morning of 8 November, more than 600,000 consumers in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast were left without electricity after Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy system.
The source does not say how long the emergency cuts will last, nor does it give further details on the territories or the number of consumers affected beyond those mentioned above.
