Ukraine's defense technology cluster Brave1 has announced a grant for the development of combat humanoid robots. This is the first time a state program has officially classified combat humanoids as a distinct defense category.

Brave1, which serves as Ukraine's hub for defense innovation, is demonstrating the country's commitment to advancing modern military technologies. While humanoid robots are not yet widely deployed on the battlefield, their potential includes operating in complex environments and performing tasks too dangerous for humans.

The grant is part of Ukraine's broader efforts to modernize its armed forces and adapt to the demands of contemporary warfare. The program is open to both local and international developers, providing financial support for projects related to humanoid robot development. Specific grant amounts and deadlines have not been disclosed.

Experts note that although humanoid robots could offer new capabilities, their effectiveness in combat remains unproven. Ukraine's battlefield experience suggests that wheeled and tracked vehicles still dominate many roles. Nonetheless, this initiative marks a significant step forward in military technology.
