Ukraine to Receive First €3.2 Billion of EU Loan at Recovery Conference in Poland
Ukraine will receive the first tranche of €3.2 billion from the EU's €90 billion loan during the Recovery Conference in Gdańsk on June 25-26.

First Tranche of EU Loan
Ukraine is set to receive the first €3.2 billion tranche of the European Union's €90 billion loan during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, Poland, on June 25-26, according to anonymous EU officials cited by European Pravda.
The decision to provide the first tranche was made last week. The next tranche of €5.9 billion, intended to support the Ukrainian army, is expected by the end of June.
Background
It was previously reported that Polish President Karol Nawrocki did not receive an invitation to the conference. On the evening of June 19, Nawrocki decided to strip Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the Order of the White Eagle, citing the naming of a Ukrainian unit after UPA heroes and stating that Poland would not allow EU accession for those who do not understand the need to abandon the cult of totalitarianism and violence. In response, several current and former Ukrainian officials announced they would return their Polish awards. There have also been questions about whether Zelenskyy will attend the conference. Zelenskyy stated that the decision to strip him of the order is linked to internal political struggles in Poland and the stoking of anti-Ukrainian sentiment.
