Protests Against Fedorov's Dismissal Continue for Sixth Day in Ukraine

For the sixth consecutive day, protest actions against the dismissal of former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov continue in various Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Uzhhorod. Demonstrators are expressing their dissatisfaction with the decision to remove Fedorov and are demanding the dismissal of Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.

In Kyiv, protesters gathered in the square near the Franko Theater, holding cardboard signs with calls to reinstate Fedorov and dismiss Syrskyi. In Dnipro, the rally began with a moment of silence and the national anthem; participants unfurled a large Ukrainian flag and chanted slogans such as "Syrskyi out," "Military are not disposable," "Council back to work tomorrow," and "The army stands – we stand with them." Similar protests are taking place in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Uzhhorod, and other cities.

The protests follow earlier actions held on July 16–19 in Kyiv and other cities, demanding the return of Mykhailo Fedorov as defense minister and the dismissal of Syrskyi. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy acknowledged that Minister Fedorov and Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi could not find common ground and that problems on the battlefield, in brigades, and with mobilization remained unresolved. On July 18, Zelenskyy stated that he had spoken with Fedorov and Syrskyi and promised that "decisions regarding the army will be worked out." On July 20, Syrskyi apologized to Fedorov, claiming he was unaware of the conflict between them.
