Ukraine strikes rocket fuel plant in Russia's Rostov region
Ukraine's armed forces destroyed two workshops and damaged four more at the "Kombinat Kamensky" plant, which produces solid rocket fuel in Russia, the General Staff reported.

Ukraine's Armed Forces carried out a strike on the "Kombinat Kamensky" plant in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, in Russia's Rostov region, according to a statement from Ukraine's General Staff.
The attack, carried out overnight into August 16, 2026, destroyed two workshops that produced explosives and gunpowder, while four additional workshops at the facility sustained damage, the military reported.
What the plant produces
"Kombinat Kamensky" is part of Russia's military-industrial complex and manufactures solid rocket fuel used in multiple launch rocket systems, including the Uragan, Smerch and Tornado-S, as well as other missile systems and aviation weapons. The General Staff described it as one of the largest chemical industry facilities in southern Russia.
The plant is located relatively close to the Ukrainian border, roughly 10 to 15 kilometers away.
Background
Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has continued since February 24, 2022, while the broader war between the two countries dates back to 2014, when Russia occupied Ukraine's Crimean peninsula and began fighting in the Donbas region.
