Ukraine has stated that its strikes on Russian territory have knocked out more than 51% of the country's oil refining capacity. The claim points to significant effectiveness in Ukraine's ongoing strike campaign against Russian energy infrastructure.

Drone production triples

According to available information, production and procurement of Ukraine's long-range strike drones have tripled this year compared to the previous period. Ukraine's Defense Ministry plans to scale up this production further, signaling an intention to increase the number of long-range strike drones and their capabilities.

Long-range strike drones have become one of Ukraine's key tools for reaching targets deep inside Russian territory, including oil refineries and other energy infrastructure. A reduction in refining capacity could affect Russia's ability to supply both its domestic market and its exports of fuel and other oil products.

Ukrainian officials have not provided further details on specific strike targets or timing, but the cited figure — more than half of Russia's oil refining capacity — is presented as a major achievement in Ukraine's long-range strike campaign. The Defense Ministry's statement on rising production and plans to expand it further suggests Ukraine intends to continue, and potentially intensify, this type of operation.
