Ukraine continues strikes on Russian oil refineries in Krasnodar and Rostov regions
Overnight, Ukrainian forces struck oil refineries in Russia's Krasnodar and Rostov regions, sparking a fire and halting operations at one plant. A drone strike in Russia's Belgorod region also cut power to two districts.
Krasnodar region governor Veniamin Kondratyev said on social media that a drone strike caused a fire at an oil refinery in the village of Afipsky. At least ten private homes were damaged. Ukraine's Defense Forces confirmed the strike targeted the Afipsky oil refinery, which processes 6.25 million tons of crude oil annually and produces diesel and gasoline components, as well as supplies fuel to Russia's occupation army.
Debris from a downed aircraft also fell on the Afipsky railway station, killing two people and injuring two others.
Strike also hits Rostov region
The Ukrainian Telegram channel "Supernova+" reported that Ukrainian drones also struck the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in Russia's Rostov region. Russian authorities later confirmed this — Rostov region governor Yuri Slyusar said the refinery was damaged and has halted operations.
Two districts left without power
The Telegram channel "Pepel" reported that in Russia's Belgorod region, three Ukrainian drones struck a power substation, cutting electricity to the Borisovsky district and partially to the Graivoronsky district.
Russia's Defense Ministry claimed that overnight, 148 aerial targets were shot down over seven Russian regions and occupied Crimea. Russian authorities did not disclose how many drones went undetected, but experts estimate that only about 10% to 15% of drones actually reach their targets.
