The speaker of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, said he discussed the security situation in Ukraine with Lorenzo Fontana, speaker of Italy's Chamber of Deputies, including the possibility of jointly sponsoring the construction of an underground school in one of Ukraine's front-line regions.

Stefanchuk shared the update in a post on the social network X.

Topics discussed

According to Stefanchuk, the two officials discussed the consequences of Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities, exchanged views on the upcoming stages of the peace process, and aligned their positions.

Special attention was given to the protection of Ukrainian children. Stefanchuk said they discussed the possibility of jointly supporting the construction of an underground school in a front-line region of Ukraine, as part of what he called the Shelter Coalition.

Further cooperation
