Second Russian MiG-29 in two days as Ukrainian drones hit Millerovo airbase

Ukrainian drones carried out an overnight strike on targets linked to Russia's Millerovo airbase, according to Euromaidan Press, citing details provided by the commander of Ukraine's drone forces (SBS).

Four radar installations were knocked out during the single night's operation, alongside a facility the SBS describes as a solid-rocket-fuel production plant. The strike also reportedly hit two vessels that Ukraine identifies as part of Russia's so-called "shadow fleet," ships used to circumvent sanctions.

Second MiG-29 in two days

The operation is linked to what is being reported as the second Russian MiG-29 destroyed or damaged within a two-day span, pointing to sustained Ukrainian drone activity against Russian military aviation infrastructure near the border.

Millerovo airbase is located in Russia's Rostov region, close to the Ukrainian border, and serves as one of the Russian air force's key deployment points. Damage to its radar systems and fuel production facilities could affect the base's ability to support military aviation operations.

Ukraine regularly conducts drone strikes against Russian military infrastructure, including airbases, fuel depots and radar installations, as part of a broader effort to weaken Russia's capacity to launch attacks on Ukrainian territory.
