The T-64BM Bulat is a deeply modernized version of the Soviet-era T-64 tank, featuring reinforced armor and improved combat capabilities. Ukraine had planned to produce or upgrade around 400 of these tanks, but only about 80 were actually completed. That makes the Bulat a relatively scarce and valuable asset within Ukraine's armored forces.
Origin remains a mystery
It is currently unclear how this particular tank ended up with the 57th Brigade, since the unit was never formally allocated any Bulat tanks. Possible explanations could involve equipment transfers between units under battlefield conditions or vehicles passing through repair and refurbishment facilities, but no specific account has been confirmed.
