Ukraine's Foreign Ministry urges world to demand Russia lift siege of Oleshky

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has called on the international community and international organizations, via a post on X, to increase pressure on Russia to end its siege of Oleshky, an occupied town in Kherson region. The statement was reported by Yevropeiska Pravda.

According to Sybiha, Ukraine's armed forces are doing everything possible to help residents, including delivering humanitarian aid by drone. The minister stressed that every day matters in saving people who are starving and dying in the town, and urged international partners to act immediately and demand urgent humanitarian access to put an end to the disaster.

Propaganda campaign expected

Sybiha also said Russia is planning a propaganda campaign aimed at claiming there is no humanitarian catastrophe in the town. Citing Ukrainian intelligence, the minister said Russia is preparing to stage dozens of videos in occupied Oleshky, forcing local residents to say on camera that they are happy, well-fed and grateful to the Russian occupiers.

As previously reported, on September 28 the EU's top diplomat Kaja Kallas said the European Union is trying to deliver humanitarian aid to occupied Oleshky. The EU has also demanded that Russia provide humanitarian access to the town and is seeking to secure it with the help of international partners.
