Ukraine's Military Confirms Strike on Fuel Complex in Russia's Leningrad Region
Ukraine's armed forces struck the Novatek-Ust-Luga complex in Slobodka, Leningrad Oblast, overnight on 13-14 August, causing a fire and damaging two processing units.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed that Ukrainian defense forces carried out a strike on the Novatek-Ust-Luga complex in the village of Slobodka, located in Russia's Leningrad Oblast. The attack took place on the night of 13-14 August.
According to the Ukrainian side, a fire broke out at the facility. Preliminary reports indicate that two processing units were hit, but the full extent of the damage and the results of the operation are still being assessed.
The Novatek-Ust-Luga complex is a production and transshipment facility designed for the fractionation and processing of stable gas condensate, with an annual capacity of nearly 8 million tonnes of raw material. Its output is used in Russia's military and economic activities and supports the needs of the Russian armed forces.
