The Ukrainian Armed Forces are setting up a new structure – the Long-Range (Global) Strike Command (Deep Strike) – to centralize control and improve the effectiveness of strikes against the aggressor state. This information was provided to Ukrainska Pravda by General Staff spokesman Major Dmytro Lykhoviy.

According to him, various units conducting strikes deep into enemy territory will be brought under a single command. This will allow more efficient use of long-range firepower, improve planning and coordination, and transition from individual high-precision strikes to a unified long-term strategy of fire impact.

Lykhoviy emphasized that concentration in a single system will enable sequential and comprehensive destruction of the most important elements of the enemy's military and economic potential, achieving an effect unattainable when forces operate separately. The creation of the command is a response to the rapid scaling of Deep Strike operations.

The new command will include designated units: long-range strike unmanned aircraft systems, missile units, naval unmanned vehicle units, as well as necessary support, logistics, and maintenance units. No new military units will be created – the most effective existing combat units from missile forces and unmanned systems will be reassigned. They will be reinforced by operationally subordinate strike unmanned system units from other components of the Defense Forces.

On July 10, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree establishing such a command within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
