Ukraine’s armed forces, which are fighting Russia’s invasion, had been run from the top in what is described as “manual mode.” A front-line officer now says the system is starting to change.

According to the officer, the army’s new chief has begun sharing power that was previously concentrated at the highest level. As part of the shake-up, two new commands have been set up: one for the Donbas direction and one for the Center.

The officer says troops now have to file fewer reports. At the same time, he stresses that gaps in the system remain.

The available excerpt of the source does not name the commanders or set out the precise powers of the new structures.
