Servant of the People faction gains new MP in Ukraine's parliament
Kyiv resident Dmytro Vydolob has been sworn in as a member of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada and joined the Servant of the People faction, taking up a mandate another elected candidate had declined.
Ukraine's Central Election Commission (CEC) has recognized Dmytro Vydolob as an elected member of the Verkhovna Rada, and he has since taken the parliamentary oath and joined the Servant of the People faction.
Vydolob appeared on the Servant of the People party list under number 168 in the early parliamentary elections held on 21 July 2019. His mandate opened up after the CEC had initially, on 4 September, recognized Andriy Misiats as the elected MP from the same party list, but Misiats subsequently filed a statement renouncing his mandate. As a result, Vydolob, the next candidate on the list, was recognized as elected instead.
According to information published on the CEC's website, Vydolob studied at the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design and resides in Kyiv.
Recent faction changes
The appointment follows a series of personnel shifts within the ruling party's parliamentary faction. In early September, two other Servant of the People MPs, Andriy Zhupanyn and Ostap Shypailo, filed statements to give up their mandates. Separately, on 15 September, Olena Slobodian was sworn in as a Servant of the People MP in the Verkhovna Rada.
Together, these changes reflect ongoing turnover within the faction's ranks in recent weeks.
