Ukraine's drone forces strike 13 Russian 'shadow fleet' ships off Crimea overnight
Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces attacked 13 Russian shadow fleet ships near Crimea overnight, hitting ten tankers, a dry cargo ship, a ferry, and a tugboat, the unit's commander said.

Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) launched a large-scale operation against Russian 'shadow fleet' vessels off the coast of occupied Crimea late Thursday night, January 2, 2025. Commander Robert Brovdi, known by the call sign 'Magyar,' announced that 13 ships were targeted.
According to Brovdi, hits were confirmed on ten tankers, one dry cargo ship, one ferry, and one sea tug. He emphasized that all damaged tankers were identified as part of Russia's shadow fleet and are subject to international sanctions.
In addition to the naval strikes, the USF also attacked five electrical substations in Crimea. The operation is part of Ukraine's ongoing efforts to degrade Russia's military and economic capabilities, particularly its naval presence in the Black Sea.
