Ukrainian drones struck 177 energy assets in occupied territories in a month
Ukrainian drones have struck 177 energy infrastructure assets in Russian-occupied territories over the past month, including 13 in the last three days, according to the Unmanned Systems Forces commander.
Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces have reported a significant series of strikes against energy infrastructure in Russian-occupied territories. According to the commander of the forces, Robert "Magyar" Brovdi, a total of 177 energy-related assets were hit over a one-month period, from 1 July to 2 August. In a social media update, Brovdi revealed that 13 additional targets were struck during the final 72 hours of that timeframe.
The latest wave of attacks included the Russian-occupied Zuivska Thermal Power Plant, located in Donetsk Oblast, along with electrical substations in Mariupol in Donetsk Oblast, in Henichesk and Novooleksiivka in Kherson Oblast, and in Berdiansk, Topolyne and Mykilske in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
Brovdi accompanied the announcement with video footage showing the results of some of the strikes. He underscored that the campaign against energy infrastructure is continuing, with the monthly tally reaching 177.
These operations are widely seen as part of efforts to disrupt the logistical and energy supply networks that sustain the occupation forces. The precise extent of damage has not been independently confirmed, but the repeated and sustained pattern of strikes highlights the increasing reliance on drone warfare in the conflict.
The Ukrainian military has increasingly used unmanned aerial vehicles to strike targets far behind the front lines, including power plants and substations that are essential for both military operations and civilian life in the occupied territories.
