Pilots of the special unit “Magyar's Birds” of Ukraine's 414th Brigade have announced that they shot down a Russian strike drone of unusual appearance during the war with Russia. They also published video of the incident.
According to the soldiers, the drone's most distinctive feature is its ring-shaped wing. Because of it, the Ukrainian pilots initially regarded the aircraft as an unidentified flying object (UFO).
What is known
The source states only that the unit's pilots brought the drone down and that video is publicly available. It does not say where or when exactly the drone was shot down. It also does not give the aircraft's name or its technical characteristics.
Both sides in the Russia–Ukraine war widely use unmanned aircraft for reconnaissance and attacks. This case drew attention because the drone's appearance differed from familiar models.
