Ukrainian drones destroy one of Russia's largest Wildberries warehouses
A Ukrainian drone strike has completely destroyed a major Wildberries logistics center in Kotovsk, Russia, while another attack sparked a fire at an oil refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
A drone strike has destroyed a large warehouse belonging to Russian e-commerce company Wildberries in Kotovsk, in Russia's Tambov region. The facility is considered one of the company's main logistics hubs in central Russia and had only become operational in 2025. This was the second time the site was hit — it also suffered a drone attack in July.
Following the latest strike, fire spread across more than 100,000 square meters of the complex. The governor of the Tambov region confirmed the warehouse had been completely destroyed by the resulting fire. According to him, air defense forces shot down 13 drones, and mobile fire units destroyed three more, but three drones still managed to hit the warehouse building.
Local authorities in Kotovsk urged residents to stay indoors for the next two days, warning of the risk of poisoning from combustion gases released by the fire.
Refinery also hit
Meanwhile, in Kstovo, in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region, a fire broke out at an oil refinery following a separate drone attack. According to the Telegram channel Exilenova+, the facility belongs to LUKOIL-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez, one of Russia's largest oil refineries, with a designed capacity of around 17 million tonnes of crude oil per year.
Both strikes are part of Ukraine's ongoing campaign targeting Russian logistics and energy infrastructure far from the front line. Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has continued since February 24, 2022, while hostilities between the two countries date back to 2014, when Russia occupied Ukraine's Crimean peninsula and launched fighting in the Donbas region.
