Ukrainian Drones Reach Russia's Siberian Gas Sector in Record-Distance Strike

Ukraine has carried out a drone strike against gas industry facilities in Siberia, reaching a distance of more than 3,000 kilometers from its border. The distance is described as a new record since the start of the full-scale war, underscoring Ukraine's growing ability to hit targets deep inside Russian territory.

The drones used in the strike were identified as the FP-1 model, manufactured by Fire Point. This drone type has previously been used in Ukraine's long-range strikes against various targets across Russia.

Plastics production equipment also hit

Ukrainian analysts said one of the strikes hit equipment used in plastics production. This indicates the targets were not limited to gas extraction or processing in the narrow sense, but also extended to related chemical industry operations.

Detailed information about the damage caused by the strike, the exact location of the facilities, or any casualties has not yet been made public. It is also unclear whether Russian officials have commented on the incident.

Throughout the war, Ukraine has regularly used long-range drones to strike Russian energy and industrial infrastructure, aiming to limit Moscow's ability to finance the war effort and supply fuel to its armed forces. Given the distance covered, this strike is seen as a significant demonstration of Ukraine's capacity to reach targets in regions previously considered largely out of range.
